Charity: Water Bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations

Charity: Water is dedicated to solving the water crisis by providing clean and safe water to individuals in developing countries. Founded in 2006 by Scott Harrison, Charity: Water funds the construction of new wells, provides maintenance to keep existing wells operational, and introduces innovative technologies to introduce water programs with a focus on rural communities without access to freshwater.

Beyond well installation, Charity: Water relies on technology to deploy other solutions for improving clean water access. Technological innovations such as rainwater catchments, gravity fed and water purification systems, bio-sand filters, natural spring protection systems, and latrines are now deployed in 24 countries around the world.

Charity: Water relies on science and engineering to assess the unique composition of water sources, determine the layout of local terrain, and factor in the size of the population that will utilize the well.

Charity: Water is developing educational initiatives for communities with newly installed wells to impart a sense of ownership and to ensure access to water is uninterrupted. These training resources ensure that local communities are prepared to manage these wells once Charity: Water is no longer on site.
