China, Mongolia and Russian Fed. begin new era of trade cooperation

On 8 December 2016, China, Mongolia, and Russia signed the Intergovernmental Agreement on International Road Transport , which ushered in new development for the Asian Highway Network connecting their respective territories. Negotiating the agreement occurred over a three-year period with the aim of developing infrastructure networks to promote trade cooperation among these countries and the surrounding regions. The agreement also welcomes additional countries interested in contributing transit rights to join at a later date.
