Conflicts, drought drive hunger despite global food supply

 

 The United Nations agriculture agency released a new edition of the  UN Agriculture Agency and UN Food Agency  (FAO) Crop Prospects and Food Situation report on 37 countries exposed to various climate and regional crises. 29 of the impacted countries are located in Africa and will require supplemental food assistance from external sources to combat near-famine conditions resulting from climate change factors and regional conflicts preventing people in these countries from accessing food and undertaking otherwise productive activities.
