‘Sustainable, inclusive societies,’ priority for UN Economic President

Marie Chatardova, President of the ECOSOSC, outlined her number one priority in working to advance the Sustainable Development Goals known as the 2030 Agenda

Marie Chatardova, President of the  United Nations Economic and Social Council ( ECOSOSC ), outlined her number one priority in working to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also known as the 2030 Agenda by creating more sustainable, inclusive societies. A week after the High-Level Political Forum, Ms. Chatardova participated in her first meeting as president. Discussing how to measure progress achieved in reaching the 2030 Agenda, Ms. Chatardova praised the success among member states in developing a shared vision through participation in Voluntary National Reviews.

Improving individual people’s lives is the true measure of success for assessing the effectiveness of the ECOSOC.
